From Posada Nena we offer a number of different ways to get to know the nearby capital, San José. The most individual and easiest option is to simply get on one of the buses that often pass close to the Posada and drive into the city on your own. The fare is around 50 cents and it takes around 20-30 minutes to get to the city center.

The exact travel time depends on whether you choose a bus on the city highway or via the “villages” for the short journey - and of course on the traffic. And downtown San Jose is easy to explore on foot. Of course, we provide a free city map and we also give tips on opening times, attractions and gastronomic highlights in the city center.

If you don't have much time or would like explanations about the sights of San Jose and their history, you can also take part in an organized half-day tour to San Jose. This tour starts twice a day directly from the Posada, is quite cheap and you see a lot of the rich culture and skills of Costa Rica in the approximately 3-4 hour tour.
