This place is amazing

The Tortuguero National Park is home to an incredible biodiversity. The “Tortuguero National Park” is located in the northeast of Costa Rica, in the Limón province and can only be reached by boat or plane.

This is due to the many different landscape and climatic conditions that one finds here. Tropical rainforests, beaches, alluvial land, lagoons, rivers, caños - just to name a few of the landforms.Bootstour im Nationalpark Tortuguero

The tropical, very humid climate with precipitation of almost 6000 mm per year lives up to the name “rainforest”. You can almost guarantee rain. The park borders the Caribbean, whose beaches are nesting sites for endangered turtle species, especially the large leatherback turtle. The nesting sites have been actively protected for a good 15 years, as visitors are allowed to watch spawning in the months of July to September - but the focus is on protecting the animals. Entering the beaches at night is not permitted without a guide.

Manatís (manatees) have been seen in the waters of the national park, as well as caimans, crocodiles and several species of snakes, frogs and lizards. The forests are home to the jaguar, sloth, and three of the five species of monkey resident in Costa Rica (the spider monkey, howler monkey, and capuchin monkey). Almost 400 different species of birds, including the green macaw, have been spotted, over 400 species of trees and almost 3000 species of plants.

To enter the national park, you have to pay a fee of $ 15 - this fee is used to maintain the national park. We strongly recommend taking a trip to Tortuguero with a professional provider. There you have the guarantee that the protection of the national park and the animals is in the foreground, the tours are balanced, and you get a lot of information. The costs are lower than renting your own boat. Of course, one cannot assume that one is the only visitor to such an interesting place. It is all the more important that the visitors are guided and that the environment is preserved and not destroyed by the visit.

We offer tours to Tortuguero in one of the clearest camps in the area: one, two- or three-day tours, the three day tour being the most recommended - from Posada Nena and ending in Posada Nena. But of course, we can also program the end so that the beaches of the Caribbean are visited after the tour. We will then take care of further transport and the connecting bus. We also offer a visit to Tortuguero National Park in connection with our round trips.Bootstour im Nationalpark Tortuguero

Our camp is one of the most natural and familiar camps in the Tortuguero National Park. Relatively clear, great guides and a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the many visitors, but still at a suitable distance from Tortuguero, which can be reached on foot along the beach. Highly recommended!
